Drone Show 101

How we make a drone show.

From concept to night sky.

Length

All shows are approximately 15 minutes total: two minutes for the drones to rise, two minutes to land and 10–11 minutes of show time.

Drones

Each drone is a pixel in the sky. More drones mean higher resolution, more complex formations and greater visual impact. We can also add pyro drones for an incremental fee.

Timing

Shows take place at night, after nautical dusk. We work with your team to identify the right evening window for your event.

Viewing

We can stage a viewing area for up to 50 guests, including light snacks and beverages, speakers, show music and a prime view of the sky. Our Boots on the Ground team ensures a premium viewing experience, optimized for your guests.

Weather

Our drones can withstand some wind and light drizzle, but weather must always be considered. A contingency plan for a same-week launch is built into every show.

Hundreds of drones arranged in a grid on a cleared field at dusk, with crew and guests standing among them before a show
The drone field before showtime — the fleet on its pads, spaced and numbered, hours before the first launch.
Three illuminated drone formations holding position in the night sky above a valley, each shape made of hundreds of individual points of light
The same fleet, airborne after nautical dusk — every point of light in a formation is one drone holding its position.

The making of a drone show

Four phases, one file that has already flown.

01

Creative development

We start by asking what you want people to feel, then build the concept, the story arc, the formations and the soundtrack with your team. Every shape in the sky has a purpose.

02

Production

Our production team handles FAA permitting, airspace coordination, site surveys and logistics — from launch site selection to crew deployment, so your team does not have to.

03

Drone show production

Animators and flight engineers choreograph every drone in 3D simulation, frame by frame. Each formation is tested virtually before a single drone leaves the ground.

04

Post-production

Dedicated aerial and ground crews capture the show. Edited content is delivered for social, press and internal use, so the moment lives long after the last drone lands.

Uncompromising safety

Every flight is engineered, not improvised.

FAA certified and fully permitted

Every show operates under full FAA authorization. We manage airspace waivers, Part 107 compliance and local permitting well in advance of show day. Nothing flies without clearance.

Redundant safety systems

Our drones run a proprietary flight management system with real-time GPS tracking, geofencing and automatic return-to-home. In the event of any anomaly, drones land safely and immediately.

Experienced crew on the ground

Every show is staffed by a licensed chief pilot, a dedicated safety officer and a full ground crew. Site surveys, weather assessments and pre-flight checks happen before every launch.

Zero incidents across all productions. Safety is not a feature — it is our foundation.

Tentpole Moments

Make a moment, not an ad.

From franchise launches to events and celebrations, we create experiences that captivate audiences, surprise fandoms, and give fans something to talk about.

Service 05 · Projection Stunts

Turn a landmark into the story.

We map light onto real architecture — theater marquees, record towers, city façades — so the building an audience already knows becomes the launch itself.

Selected Projections

Frankenstein

Netflix · Capitol Records, Hollywood

The Capitol Records tower became Frankenstein’s laboratory: a projection map running the height of the building, timed to a coordinated drone show overhead — a Hollywood first.

Yeat

Capitol Records · Tracklist Reveal

A Dangerous Lyfe announced on the side of the Capitol Records tower — the title, then a crest, then the numbered tracklist projected line by line onto the building’s curved fins, blackletter giving way to script partway down the record until the whole thing was legible from the street.

Spellbound

Netflix · Paris Theater, New York

The Paris Theater façade became the world of the film, animated end to end so guests were standing inside the story before they reached their seats.

Salesforce

Guerilla Projection · Boston

“What if you freed your data from the vault?” — the brand’s question run across a glass office façade at full height, no stage and no seats. Passersby stopped on the sidewalk and filmed it, which is how a projection becomes earned media.
